With years of experience in the beauty industry, Niki’s work has spanned editorial, celebrity, television, and fashion. Collaborating with renowned photographers and leading publications like Marie Claire and Glamour, and working with personalities from Yasmin Le Bon to Antony Worrall Thompson. Niki’s makeup artistry has also been featured in major London & Milan Fashion Week shows including Jenny Packham & Alexander McQueen as well as advertising shoots for Timberland, Calvin Klein and ASOS.com. On screen work includes for productions such as Secret Diary of a Call Girl and the BBC’s The Inspector Lynley Mysteries.
Lessons & Workshops
These sessions take place at my home studio in Harpenden, Herts.
The lesson typically lasts 1.5 hours for a 1:1 session and 2hrs for 2-3 people.
A makeup lesson is perfect if you are wanting to update your makeup skills, learn new techniques, products and colours to suit you. A lesson typically begins with an initial consultation to understand your individual goals, skin type, and discussion of current makeup routine and products used (you are also welcome to bring your own makeup with you and I can go through this). We will discuss skincare and step-by-step makeup to suit you and your personal needs.
The lesson is interactive-you will be applying makeup on one side of the face under my guidance.I will offer individual personalised advice on choosing the correct colours, products and tools for you and professional guidance on how to use them including brush blending, product layering, and correcting mistakes. I will recap key techniques at the end and complete a personalised face chart for you listing products/tools used. Brands used include: MAC, Bobbi Brown, Nars, Estée Lauder, Charlotte Tilbury, Lisa Eldride, and many more !
Master classes can also be booked, these are two hours duration and spend an additional 30 minutes focusing on a specific technique you struggle with i.e Liquid eye liner flicks, the perfect red lip, dramatic smokey eyes or maybe specialist bridal makeup if you are planning to do your own makeup maybe if you are getting married abroad.
Workshops are more generalised relaxed and fun! Held in small groups of maximum 5/6 with limited set dates throughout the year.
You will watch, learn and try my pro’ tips throughout the session. All makeup and tools will be provided as well as drinks, fizz, nibbles and a goody bag! Great fun to attend with a friend or a few friends or simply by yourself and learn with like-minded others in a friendly relaxed environment. A great way to find out what colours and products suit you, try out some new makeup and tools and chat all things makeup!
